Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope is an award winning multi- purpose facility that offers high quality programs and services. It includes an indoor aquatic centre with 25 metre 10 lane lap pool, wave pool, program pool, a 4 court stadium and 16 court tennis complex as well as a health and fitness centre, crèche and function room facilities.
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual who has a commitment to sport and leisure to head the team at Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope and Blacktown Tennis Centre Stanhope as Centre Manager.
The Centre Manager is responsible for the management and operation of the facility as a viable entity as determined by Council. The aim of the role is to ensure the centre is managed in accordance with industry best practice. The role involves leading a large team of staff and providing high quality programs and services.
You will be responsible for financial planning and reporting to ensure that the centre and its services operate within operational and capital budgets. You will be accountable for budgets including expenditure and revenue.
You will need to provide leadership which results in motivated and effective employees. You will need to manage the training and development of staff ensuring it leads to customer focused staff who are empowered to meet the needs of all customers.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications
- Current drivers licence
- Extensive experience in recreation facility management role in an aquatic facility environment (minimum 8 years)
- Background in a large multi-functional aquatic facility with senior responsibility for asset management, operations and delivery of related programmes and services supporting innovation and enterprise
- Human resource management, financial management, business development and team development experience
- Strategic outlook for facility and program development and innovation
- Strong commitment to partnering relationships with customers, contractors, sponsors, supporters and stakeholders
- Commitment to customer service, marketing and promotion
- Negotiation and facilitation skills
- Strong communication and problem solving capability
- Technical ability with proven aptitude and experience.
Desirable:
- A higher qualification in relevant recreation facility/programme management field.
- Demonstrable ability to work to strict deadlines and coordinate multiple tasks.
Salary and Conditions
A salary range of $1,738.00 - $1,946.50 (Grade 17) per week will be offered depending on qualifications and experience. A Leaseback Vehicle will be offered in accordance with Councils Leaseback Vehicle Policy. The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
